The Meditating Mistresses

NEW SITE. NEW MEDIUM. NEW PRINTS. AND AN EXCLUSIVE PREVIEW OF A NEW SERIES OF WORK.

Well, hello. For some of you it’s been a while. For the newcomers, you’re just in time. In between the commissioned work I’ve been doing over the last year or so I have been experimenting with different mediums outside of black pen, and I am very excited to show you all a preview of this new series I’m working on.

The first segment of this series is titled The Meditating Mistresses: The Dragon (click here to view in portfolio).

The image: a sadistically-demonic looking dominatrix holding ‘dragon asana’ thus grounded, achieving samadhi. The submissive (from the perspective of the viewer) while frightened at the thought of handing over their ego to the dominant, finds balance through discipline and perseverance. The act: the brush must submit control to allow the ink wash to flow as it will. However, the pencil must remain tight and disciplined to honor the shine of the latex. The very act of the drawing is the act of dominance and submission. The aesthetic of the drawing and what it represents can not be achieved without the use of this balance.

To kick off the new site I have decided to offer these 3 drawings as 8x10” prints in the store.

Well I’ll leave you with that. Thank you for your time. More work form this series will be posted monthly.
